WHERE: Assissi & Siena
WHAT: We will briefly visit the historic sites in the picturesque Tuscan region, tour Assisi as we stop at various St. Francis landmarks and learn about his life, as well as partner with a Protestant church in Siena. This excursion offers the perfect mix of service alongside a vibrant church together with the opportunity to explore historical sites around the region and learn from a Catholic friar’s life who still impacts us today. We will be doing significant work with the displaced immigrants of Europe and South America, who have found themselves impoverished and having to work multiple jobs to survive. In response, we will assist in offering daily after school care projects at the church for these children and teens. In addition to that work, we will also offer the opportunity for light construction on the facility and church that has been a refuge for many in transition.

WHY: We believe that our faith comes to life when we have the opportunity to learn from one another, to love and serve others. Our hope is to encourage those who are engaging the poor, such as displaced immigrants, while considering what implications this may have for us upon returning home.
